Suffragist Rally

Saturday ~ August 28, 2010

10 a.m. Bartlesville Community Center 

Songs and suffragist speeches led by storyteller Fran Stallings, with Bettye Williams as Sojourner Truth

Followed by a rousing march to the

Washington County Courthouse
for
The Trial of the Century

. . . .  A moving reenactment of Susan B. Anthony’s 1873 trial for her crime of voting without the right to do so!

Luncheon follows at Hopestone Studio, 120 S.W. Frank Phillips Blvd.

The script is taken directly from the trial transcript. The cast includes many members from the earlier two productions in 1995 and 2005, including (Ret.) Judge Jan Dreiling as Susan B. Anthony, Bruce Peabody as Anthony’s defense attorney, Curtis DeLapp as prosecutor, and Joan Dreisker as the narrator.
