The Bartlesville District Science Fair - What is It?
The Bartlesville District Science Fair (BDSF) is open to public, private and home school students from first through twelfth grades. Students' projects are grouped at the Elementary Fair in grades 1-3, and grades 4-6. Upper level grades are grouped as 7-9 (Junior Division) and 10-12 (Senior Division). Washington, Nowata, Eastern Osage, and Northern Rogers counties are included. Registration is "open", meaning that students wishing to enter do not have to participate in a school science fair first.
Over $1000 in prizes are awarded annually at the BDSF from local professional societies and sponsors to outstanding projects. Twenty-five projects will be selected from the Junior/Senior Fair to attend the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair in April, with the best two of these projects being funded to attend the International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose, California, in May.
