2007 Bartlesville District Science Fair Winners Announced

 

The 54th annual Bartlesville District Science Fair set a new record with 388 student participants.  The Fair was held on March 2-3 at the ConocoPhillips Technology Center in Bartlesville.  More than 100 judges reviewed the student projects and interviewed students about their research.  Participants ranged from 1st through 12th grade, and represented eighteen area schools.

Major sponsors for the Bartlesville District Science Fair were ConocoPhillips and Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. LP.  The Fair is a cooperative project of the NE Oklahoma Section of the American Chemical Society; the Bartlesville chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers; the Bartlesville Chapter of the Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers; and the Bartlesville-Tulsa Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers, Inc.

Thirty student projects were selected to compete at the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair, which will be held March 29-31 at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.  State Fair participants are Kacee Allison, Caitlin Beasley, Kimberly Branham, Cylas Brooks, Melissa Carvell, Tyler Carvell, Adam Collins, Craig Fentress, Laura Figueroa, Trevor Graham, Lauren Heald, Summer Hill, Melissa Hoelting, Alyssa Kile, Rajneesh Magesh, Lindsey Maltby, Josh McAlister, Katie McCarley, Mackenzie McDaniel, Marcia McIntosh, Rebecca Morton, Jamie Myers, Whitney Potter, Rachel Rickards, Marisa Samson, Susan Sattich, Jacqueline Schrader, Caryn Senn, Alden Sparks, Carrie Tillett, Jenna Volmer, Andrew Williams and Andrew Willis.

Two students were chosen to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, May 13-18.  Melissa Carvell and MacKenzie McDaniel will travel to New Mexico for the week-long event, accompanied by their teacher, Colleen Bennett.
